We are currently offering an exciting opportunity to come on board and join our growing flight operations team at Portugália Airlines. We are delighted to be able to offer new opportunities on our Embraer 170/90/95 aircraft to qualified type rated First Officers wishing to join a dynamic and established airline with a long history and a promising future.


JOB DESCRIPTION

Whether a Captain or a First Officer, Potugalia’s pilot’s number one priority is to conduct each flight safely with due consideration to passenger comfort and on-time performance. Portugalia’s pilots operate mainly out of its Lisbon base.

While the typical work month consists of approximately 80 hours of flying, pilots spend many additional hours on such ground duties as preparing flight plans, readying the aircraft for departure, and completing post-flight reports. A day’s work may vary and pilots are largely required to carry out all travel and stays, within Portuguese territory or abroad, as necessary for the exercise of the duties.

SALARY

  • Base salary (First Officer) €2.677,34
  • Cut 20% (2.677,34 – 231,46) €2.445,87
  • Block hours: Higher than 80 monthly
  • Duty: Above 145 monthly
  • Unit value per diem: 48,75 €
  • Value Lost Assists: 15,00 €
  • Value Perdiem IM and RGTC: 15.00 €

CONTRACT  

  • Unlimited open-ended contract available subject to company discretion

MEDICAL INSURANCE

You and your dependants will be provided with medical insurance, as per the company’s policy and with the scheme in place throughout your employment. The dependents insurance is supported by the employee. You will have access to the UCS-TAP Health Care Unit and home health care.


MEDICAL EXAMS   

Medical exams (in Portugal) inherent to the revalidation of the Medical Certificate supported by Portugália (limit value 99,76€ medical exams / revalidation of the Medical Cert. 124,70€).

Qualification annotations / Flight License Revalidation supported by Portugália.


PENSION PLAN   

Pension plan 6% of the monthly VB through Portugália + 1% employee charge


LIFE INSURANCE:   

You will be provided with life insurance, as per the Company’s policy and with the scheme in place throughout your employment.

Loss of License insurance.


ANNUAL LEAVE   

You will be entitled to 22 working days paid leave per calendar year, under the internal policies in force, which must be taken in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures.


TRAVEL PRIVILEGES   

You will be entitled travel privileges as employee as well as your dependents, according to the Company policy in place throughout your employment. Travel facilities after 6 months in Leisure (Portugália and other Companies)


To fly for Portugália, the basic requirements are:

  • Valid EASA Part-FCL License.
  • Valid EASA Class 1 Medical.
  • Current E170/90/95 Type Rating.
  • Minimum ICAO level 4 English proficiency, candidates with fluency in Portuguese are preferred.
  • Right to live and work in the EU.
  • Criminal free record.
  • Minimum Total Experience of 1500 hours, 500 hours on E170/90/95 Aircraft.

Pilot applications far exceed job vacancies, so preference is given to candidates with qualifications beyond the basic requirements. Examples of desirable additional qualifications include, but are not limited to:   

  • College Degree preferred.
  • Ability to handle the job responsibilities with integrity and professionalism.
  • Possess a team effort approach with great interpersonal skills.
